Keep selected pages from a PDF and download them as one new PDF. Choose pages in the preview or enter a list of page numbers and ranges. This browser tool is useful for extracting a chapter, removing unwanted pages or arranging a shorter document.
How to extract PDF pages
- Choose one PDF and wait for the page preview to load. Keep the source file unchanged.
- Click page thumbnails or enter Pages to include, such as 1-3, 5. Page numbers count from the first page of the file.
- Check the selection and its order. Enter a list such as 5, 1-2 if you want page 5 first, followed by pages 1 and 2.
- Select Create PDF & download. Open the downloaded PDF to verify that it contains only the intended pages.
Page numbers, ranges and order
Use comma-separated numbers and ascending ranges. For a six-page document, 2-4, 6 creates a four-page PDF. To reverse two pages, use 4, 3 rather than the descending range 4-3.
Numbers refer to physical page positions, which may differ from printed labels such as i, ii or Chapter 1. A repeated number in a typed list repeats that page in the output. Check the list if the exported page count is larger than expected.
One output file per selection
This tool creates one PDF containing the selected pages. It does not automatically download a separate file for every page or package several ranges into a ZIP.
To make two separate documents, keep the original open, download the first selection, then change the selection and download again. For example, export 1-3 as one file and 4-6 as another. Give the downloads distinct names so you can tell them apart.
Privacy and document limitations
Page extraction runs on your device and does not send the PDF to our conversion API. Very large documents can exceed browser memory. Keep the original until you have checked the exported pages.
Export copies selected pages into a new document. Form behavior, bookmarks and other document-level features may not carry over; check any features you rely on. Digital signature verification is not preserved.
Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked before export. A password may enable the preview without making extraction possible. Use only documents you own or have permission to modify; the separate server-based decryption tool has different privacy requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Does Split PDF create several files automatically?
No. Each export produces one PDF for the current selection. Change the selection and export again when you need another file.
How do I remove pages?
Enter or select the pages you want to keep. Pages omitted from the selection are left out of the new copy; the source file is unchanged.
Can I extract pages in a different order?
Yes. A typed list such as 3, 1, 2 exports those pages in that order. Each range must run from a smaller number to a larger number.
Why is my page number rejected?
Use positions from 1 through the document’s page count. Printed page labels may not match those positions, and descending ranges such as 5-2 are not accepted.
