Time Converter

The interactive tool loads here. JavaScript is required to use its controls; the instructions below are available without it.

Convert fixed durations or display the same instant in two time zones. These are different operations: a duration is a quantity of elapsed time, while a time-zone comparison formats a particular date and time.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose Duration and select the source and destination units for a numeric value.
  2. For Time zones, enter a date and time in your device local time zone or choose the current time.
  3. Choose two destination zones and compare both date and time, including any change of day.

How to interpret the result

Duration months mean 30 days and years mean 365 days. Time-zone formatting uses the browser time-zone database and the offset applicable to the selected date. A local time during a daylight-saving transition can be ambiguous or skipped; confirm critical appointments separately.

Frequently asked questions

Is the date/time input in the first selected zone?

No. The input is interpreted in your device local time zone. The two selected zones are output views of that same instant.
