Estimate total daily energy expenditure by multiplying the tool BMR estimate by an activity factor. This provides a broad comparison of activity assumptions rather than measuring calories you actually expend.
How to use this tool
- Enter age, height, weight and the formula option.
- Choose the activity category closest to the scenario you want to compare.
- Review both the BMR and multiplier shown with the estimated daily total.
How to interpret the result
The multipliers are 1.2, 1.375, 1.55, 1.725 and 1.9 from sedentary through very active. Choosing a different category can substantially change the estimate. Exercise, illness and individual metabolism are not measured.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a weight-loss calorie target?
No. The output estimates expenditure under the chosen assumptions. It does not prescribe a deficit or account for your individual nutritional needs.
