Estimate resting energy needs from weight, height, age and a formula sex option. The calculator uses the Mifflin–St Jeor equation and reports an estimate in calories per day.
How to use this tool
- Choose units and enter the required measurements and age.
- Select the formula option and calculate.
- Read the estimate separately from exercise or total daily energy needs.
How to interpret the result
The implementation computes 10 × kg + 6.25 × cm − 5 × age, then adds 5 for the male option or subtracts 161 for the female option. It is a population-based estimate, not a measured metabolic rate or a prescribed food intake.
Frequently asked questions
Does this include daily activity?
No. TDEE applies an activity multiplier, but that result is still approximate and is not an individual nutrition prescription.
