Audio Inspector

The interactive tool loads here. JavaScript is required to use its controls; the instructions below are available without it.

Inspect the duration, file size and format information of an audio file in your browser. The inspector reads metadata that the browser exposes and provides format guidance. It does not produce a converted MP3, WAV or other audio file.

How to use this tool

  1. Open Analyze and choose or drop an audio file.
  2. Wait for the browser to read its metadata and review the displayed details.
  3. Copy the result if needed; use the Formats or Guide tab to understand conversion options.

How to interpret the result

File extension and MIME type do not prove which codec is inside a file. Playback support depends on your browser and operating system. The bitrate shown is an estimate from file size and duration, not a complete stream analysis.

Frequently asked questions

Why will a file not load?

Your browser may not support its container or codec, or the file may be incomplete. Try a known playable file to distinguish a compatibility issue from a damaged input.
