Microphone Test

The interactive tool loads here. JavaScript is required to use its controls; the instructions below are available without it.

Check whether your browser can access a microphone and display its input level. This is useful before joining a call, but it does not certify recording quality or microphone calibration.

How to use this tool

  1. Start the microphone test and allow access if you want to proceed.
  2. Speak at a normal volume and watch the level indication.
  3. Stop the test when finished; check system input selection if the meter stays quiet.

How to interpret the result

Browser and operating-system permissions both matter. Another application, a muted input or the wrong device can prevent a useful signal. The tool measures local browser input rather than the audio another call participant receives.

Frequently asked questions

Is my voice sent to the server?

This test analyzes the microphone stream locally. It does not upload the microphone recording to the conversion service.
